CMA Investigates UK Construction

The United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened a preliminary investigation into suspected anti-competitive arrangements in the supply of construction services in the United Kingdom.

Chapter I of the Competition Act 1998 places a prohibition on concerted practices that have the objective of preventing or distorting competition.

The investigation remains at a very early stage, with a final decision on whether to discontinue or proceed it to a full investigation expected in September 2019.
